Mr. Tahsin Aman
President
Mr. Tahsin Aman, a life member of AAA, had his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Massachusetts, USA in 1999. Soon after he graduated, he returned home and joined ‘Aman Group of Companies’. While he was working, Mr. Aman completed his Masters in Business Administration from IBA, University of Dhaka.
Mr. Aman holds the position of Vice Chairman in Aman Group. Aman Group is one of the prominent family owned conglomerates in the country with investments in various business sectors such as:

Mr. Aman also holds the position of Vice-Chair in Aman Group Foundation, which is the non-profit social service arm of the group. Along with its regular contribution to social activities the foundation had also been a benevolent donor to AAA and supported its scholarship programs for few years, both directly and in collaboration with Prothom Alo.
Mr. Aman is standing committee member of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industries (DCCI), Institute of Industrial Engineers, USA and local clubs such as Dhaka Club, Gulshan Club, Uttara Club and All Community Club.
Mr. Aman has three lovely children with wife, Nusrat Aman, also a life member and former secretary of AAA. |

Mr. Md. Mujibul Hoque

Mr. Md. Mujibul Hoque did his BSS (Hons) and MSS in Economics from Chittagong University in 1995. He went to USA and had his MBA (Management) from the NYIT in 1997. He also did Diploma in HRM from Baruch College, City University of New York (CUNY), USA.
He was project employee of UNDP for 4 years before he joined Merrill Lynch Investment Bank, USA where he worked for almost 4 years. Presently, he is serving as a Faculty member, North South University School of Business. He is also Adjunct Faculty of Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Jahangir Nagar University.
Mr. Mujibul Hoque was born in Comilla, Nangol Coat but raised up in Chittagong. He has become a life member with AAA in June 2001. |

Dr. Mustofa M. Kamal
Treasurer
Dr. Mustofa M. Kamal graduated from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in the year 1965. He started his career as professional engineer in Bangladesh Water Development Board (erstwhile EPWAPDA) in the same year as Assistant Engineer. He was elevated to the post of Chief Engineer in the same organization. During his professional career he was involved most of the time in water resources planning and worked as hydrologist and environmental expert. Nationally important projects he was involved are Land Reclamation in the Estuary of Bay of Bengal, National Water Plan, Surface Water Modeling (IWM), Environment and GIS etc. Government nominated him several times for post graduate studies in hydrology, post graduate training in environment sponsored by United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP) etc.
He has completed his Masters in Environmental Science and Ph.D. in Environmental Health from School of Public Health, University of Texas, and Houston, Texas, USA. During his stay in USA he developed collaboration with the University of Houston for transfer of student and teachers exchange program. On the success of the transfer program he obtained license for establishment and operation of America Bangladesh University under private university act 1992 since 2002. He is the founder and first Vice Chancellor duly appointed by the Chancellor of the University. Presently he is involved in the development of the permanent campus at Nawabgonj on 30 acres of land to make it full bloom university of the country.
He is a certified environmental profession from USA as Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP), Certified High-Tech Laboratory Safety Instructor, Life Fellow Institution of Engineers, President, Institute of Environmental Professionals, Bangladesh, Secretary General, and Vice Chancellor Forum for Private Universities in Bangladesh. |

Mr. Syed Sadat Almas Kabir

Mr. Syed Almas Kabir, a founding member of the AAA, joined Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) in 1994 just after returning from the US, where he completed his Master of Science in Management from PolytechnicUniversity in New York. Earlier he finished the Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from JadavpurUniversity, Kolkata, India. At IUB, Mr. Kabir served in various capacities, such as, Director of the Computer Centre and Dean of Students besides being an Asst. Professor. Since 2000, he has been the Registrar-in-charge of the University. He has taught in many other public and private universities in undergraduate and graduate level.
Mr. Kabir is actively involved with several non-profit organizations. He has been involved with the AAA since long. He was a member of the Activities Committee and currently is the Secretary of the association and a Life Member. He has been the National President of the Junior Chamber Bangladesh (JCI-Bangladesh) last year, and serving as the Chairman of its National Governing Board at present. He is also the Joint Secretary of America-Bangladesh Friendship Society (ABFS), which has chapters in the US and in the country. Mr. Kabir is also the Vice President & Life Member of St. Joseph Old Boys’ Association (SJOBA), and an Advisor of the Association of IUB Alumni (AiA). He is also a past Vice President and a Life Member of Notre Dame Debating Club. Mr. Syed Almas Kabir has participated in and facilitated numerous workshops & seminars. He is also a graduate of the leadership development academy run by Japan Junior Chamber.
Currently, Mr. Kabir is working as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Metronet, an IT Company based in Gulshan 2, Dhaka. |

Mr. Mohammed Marfat Ullah
Member
Mr. Mohammed Marfat Ullah had his School education from IdealHigh School, Motijheel, Dhaka and College education from the ScienceCollege, Tejgaon, Dhaka after which he moved to USA for higher study. He has completed his Bachelor of Science (Management) from SoutheasternOklahomaUniversity, Durant, USA. During his attachment with the University he had been Student Senator from 1986 – 1988 and the President for Bangladesh Student Association from 1987 – 1988.
Currently, Mr. Marfat Ullah is the sponsor Dirctor of Janata Jute Mills Ltd and Director for Goldies Enterprise and Baily Fiesta Shopping Mall.
Mr. Marfat Ullah had been the Vice-President of Arambagh Sporting Club.
In his role as social activist he is in the Executive Board of Asian University of Bangladesh, and the President of Ahmedullah High School,Comilla.
His hobby is to collect branded wrist watches. |

Mr. A. Gafur

Mr. Gafur, also the Executive Director of AmCham Bangladesh, on completing his B.A. Honors and M.A. in Economics from the University of Chittagong, Mr. Gafur joined Reckitt & Colman Bangladesh Ltd., a British multinational company, as a management trainee in the year 1980, and served the company for about a decade looking after its materials planning and management functions.
In 1991, he got himself involved with one of the largest garments group of Bangladesh and served as Deputy General Manager heading its Commercial Department and also engaged himself in its system development activities. In 1992, Mr. Gafur left the garments group and joined the American Bangladesh Economic Forum, to look after its operation, an organization of American business firms and social institutions. In 1996, American Bangladesh Economic Forum was converted to American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham) and Mr. Gafur began to serve as its Executive Director. He has been working as Director of the U.S. Trade Show in Bangladesh, held annually, cosponsored by the U.S. Embassy and AmCham. He takes keen interest in privatization, reform and liberalization programs, deregulation, market economy, entrepreneurship, etc.
He worked as a business analyst at a World Bank study on foreign investment in Bangladesh in 1993. In 1995, Mr. Gafur visited U.S.A. for five weeks as an international visitor under the United States Government’s International Visitor(IV) program on Entrepreneurship in the U.S., which allowed him to visiting a number of States and Institutions and meeting Dignitaries in the United States. He represented the American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh, several times at the APCAC (Asia Pacific Council of American Chambers of Commerce) conferences and meetings, held in various locations of the Asia Pacific region |

Ms. Lauren Lovelace is the Director of The American Center, the Public Affairs Section of the Embassy of the United States of America, Dhaka (formerly USIS), she seeks to promote improved mutual understanding between the United States and Bangladesh and to provide free and open access to information about the U.S. to Bangladesh.
